In a search to translate how I see and experience the world two aspects are key. The first is colour. It captivates my attention, creates connection and inspires the senses to an apprehension of the world different to that of the intellect. The second is fluidity of form which privileges movement, becoming, and transformation. Together, along with other aesthetic interests such as texture, the prism of reality sought is one where boundaries become porous. Playing with elements of figuration and landscape, I work to create a language that expresses the overlapping of different spheres of experience. The imagined worlds presented are ones where the spiritual intersects with the material, where landscapes embody emotions or where corporeity/subjectivity emerges from the environment which surrounds.
